BARONA PARTY FOR A PURPOSE
BARONA EMPLOYEES & FAMILIES PITCH IN TO MAKE THE HOLIDAYS BRIGHT FOR SENIORS & FOSTER CHILDREN
Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the county, a few caring creatures were stirring and preparing to share the riches of their bounty;
The wreaths, blankets and bears were brought by Kids Korps with care, with the generous support of Barona to share;
The children arrived awakened from their beds, with visions of giving dancing in their heads;
Their mothers in sweaters, and fathers in coats, were settling in to create great gifts of hope;
When all through Barona Ranch there arose so much laughter, singing and dancing, as they created their presents they reveled in festive chatter;
They worked from their tables and across the great hall, making wreaths for lonely elders, whose holiday would now be a ball;
Away to the tables where cuddly bears and puppies were made, while others prepared warm blankets for foster care youth in bags to be laid;
The scene of the children preparing gifts for those in need, was more than a gift, it was a festive Holiday scene and party with a purpose indeed;
Now, blanket! Now bear! Now Paper and Writing Pen! Now Book and Brush and Toothpaste and More! In the bag it all went as dozens of bags were piled on the floor!
The wreaths were bright and cheerful, festooned with great care, a right jolly cluster of candies, ribbons and toys, each assembled by a caring child as they worked from their chair;
As the gifts were complete, the wreaths and care bags replete, inside they held more than just trinkets and treat, they contained the love of this season, that thanks to their care would now be so sweet!
Kids Korps Thanks our wonderful partners at Barona…
Nearly 100 Barona employees, tribal and family members created Holiday Stuff-A-Bags including comfort and care items, fleece blankets and Teddy Bears (made by volunteers), books, a pencil and journal, along with select toys. The festive hands-on volunteer “elfsembly” line featured youth and adult participants in various stations each featured comfort and care items to donate to foster care facilities. Volunteers made blankets, stuffed bears and puppies, then they will decorate a lunch bag with acrylic paint and fill it with cookies / candies with a handwritten holiday message. Volunteers also decorated festive wreaths for donation to elder care facilities to brighten the season for seniors.
