Horses are compassionate teachers of basic life skills. Horseback riding provides a movement that is rhythmically similar to the human gait. We provide an exciting and challenging activity for those who are unable to participate in other sports activities. Therapeutic riding has the potential to improve posture, balance, mobility, and function.
Volunteers are an important part of lessons as they focus on the rider, their horse, and the instructor, encouraging and ensuring safety for all. They also gain valuable horsemanship, interpersonal and leadership skills.
