Teen Korps Entrepreneur Program Sponsored by Starbuck’s

This unique, annual program (fall season each year) underwritten by Starbuck’s provides teen participants with an experientially based training program that provides on-going support and opportunities for participants to expand the skills and knowledge needed to be a volunteer leader.

Length of Participation: Teens commit to participating fully in the program a duration of approximately 8 weeks.

Seminars & Final Event: Participants attend and participate in a series of 2-hour leadership seminars held on Sunday afternoons for 6 weeks followed by the coordination and running of a volunteer project through a community event that they plan, promote and orchestrate.

Applied Practice: Teens design and run a service project in partnership with other program participants including the planning and coordination of a culminating volunteer event.

Evaluation: Participants complete all program evaluations, including seminar evaluations, impact assessment, and the overall program evaluation.

Adult Leadership Opportunities

Team Leaders

Team Leaders are the primary contact on the day of each project. Teen Leaders are trained to assist adult Team Leaders at service projects. Your contact information is made available to registered volunteers for that project, so it is critical that you be available on the day of the select project. Primary task associated with being a Team Leader include:

Arrive to the project early to introduce yourself to the recipient agency partner • Introduce yourself as the Team Leader to incoming volunteers • Sign volunteers in and out • Help out during the project and reinforce the team effort • Fill out a Project Activity Report and send to Kids Korps • Submit names of participants to Kids Korps • Write a short article (2-3 paragraph) about your experience

Chapter Leaders

Chapter Leaders are vital to Kids Korps as they engage our youth in meaningful hands on community service projects. Being a Chapter Leader is fun and rewarding.  As a Kids Korps Chapter Leader, you can help us build leaders for life today.
