“SuperStar Gala 2008” takes its inspiration from the dedication, team spirit, and hard work associated with America’s Youth Volunteer Organization. This year’s annual gala is a celebration of our volunteer superstars, nearly 6,000 strong, and hundreds who make up our sponsors and supporters, who donate their time, talent and treasure to more than 1,200 community service projects annually.

Why: Kids Korps USA engages young people from 5 through 18 years of age in community service projects. It is committed to ensuring that our communities grow and thrive. Kids Korps’ mission is to instill in America’s youth the spirit of giving while providing valuable education in leadership and responsibility. The Kids Korps USA Gala is not only the organization’s primary fund-and-awareness-raiser, it is a celebration that promotes, recognizes, and thanks supporters, partners, and volunteers. It has become a premier event on San Diego’s social calendar, thanks to CNN’s Larry King, the gala’s longtime Master of Ceremonies, along with celebrity guests who have included Katie Couric, Wayne Newton, Ryan Seacrest, Susanne Somers and Kids Korps member Gina Davis. “SuperStar Gala 2008” is an evening not to be missed.
Gala guests will have an opportunity to sponsor Kids Korps Signature community service programs which include Build-A-House, constructing homes for families on both sides of the border; Stuff-A-Bag, creating care bags for kids in transition; Build-A-Bike, assembling bicycles for underprivileged youth, Community Building & Environmental Habitat programming that beautify, strengthen neighborhoods and bridge development with environmental habitats.
